Jared- Jared is still a Store Manager of Target and loves his job. He continues to be an amazing husband and father to Jayden. He takes such good care of us. :) Even after working all day, he still comes home and is the cook of the family! haha He loves to grill and is very good at it. He does so much for us and I am very grateful to have him as my husband and baby daddy. Jared is an awesome daddy to Jayden and I know he will be just as wonderful with our little girl who will be here soon! :)
Me- In June, I finished my 5th year teaching. I taught 1 year in Pulaski Co. and 4 years in Spotsy. Co. I can't believe it has already been 5 years! I love teaching so much and it is such a big part of my life. As much as I love my job, we decided it was best for our family for me to take "extended leave" for the 2011-2012 school year and stay home with Jayden and Isabella. Extended leave guarantees me a job in Spotsy. Co. after my year off, but I am hoping to go back to my school. This will give me a year to spend with my two babies and I could not be more excited. This summer, Jayden and I have been busy with playdates and story time at the library. I am looking forward to planning fun things for us to do together with Isabella.
The Pregnancy- I am currently 36 weeks pregnant. I feel like everyone told me how fast a 2nd pregnancy goes by because you are so busy with the first. But, I feel like this pregnancy has lasted forever! I feel like it was so long ago that I was getting sick every single day. I was sick for the first 20 some weeks. I feel like we have been expecting a little girl for so long now! She will be here soon, though. I am going to the doctor every week now. At my last appointment, I was 1 cm dialated and 50% effaced. I go again on Wednesday so we will see if I have made any more progress. I feel pretty good, except for gross and painful vericose veins in my legs. By the end of the days, my ankles and feet are swelling. And I have trouble sleeping at night. I really don't like to complain about it though because all these things are worth it to have another sweet baby! We had maternity pictures taken a couple weeks ago. I will post pics later in this post. :)
Jayden- Jayden is doing GREAT! He is such a cutie and we adore him. It is so hard to believe he is almost 2 years old. He now sleeps in a toddler bed and amazes us every day with how smart he is. He still loves Mickey Mouse. This past weekend, we had a Mickey party for him. There were 2 reasons we celebrated his birthday early. 1) Justin, Rachel, Andrew, and Brandon were in town from Florida and we wanted them to be a part of the party, and 2) wanted to have the party before Isabella comes. :) I will do a separate post about Jayden's birthday party soon.
So, that is the current standing of how everyone here is doing...... now for some more updates on the past few months, plus PICTURES!!! :)
hmmmmmm.... where to start????
Nanny Stacy-
In May, we decided to take Jayden out of daycare. (long story) It worked out prefectly because Stacy finished her semester of college and was just starting summer. She came and lived with us and took care of Jayden for 4 or 5 weeks! She was great with him and we really appreciated her taking such good care of Jayden while we were at work. She did this until I was out of school on June 12. Jayden has always loved his Aunt Stacy, but now they are especially close. :) Here is one picture of Jayden with his Aunt Stacy.
Jayden's First Fish-
Jayden loves fish. Jared likes to take Jayden to Petsmart to look at the fish because Jayden just gets so excited when he sees fish. One night in June, Jared took Jayden out and when they came home, so did a new houseguest. Meet "Mr. Chow" AKA "Sparky." Jared called him Mr. Chow and Jayden and I called him Sparky.
Jayden loved his fish. He sat on the island in our kitchen and Jayden would constantly come to us saying "fish" with his arms up because he wanted us to pick him up and set him on the island so he could look at his fish. Sadly, Sparky only lived for about 5 days. :( He had a nice environment, was fed and taken care of, but just didn't make it. I am sure Jayden will get another fish some day. For now, we still have our doggie, Fred.
Summer Playdates-
This summer, Jayden has had fun with playdates each week. We like to go to story time every week at the local library with our friends. (mommy friends and kid friends) Jayden and I meet our friends Bevin, Courtney, and Dara and their kids. We go to the library then we have a playdate afterwards. One week after the library we all came back to our house to play and have lunch. Another time we went to the mall and had lunch at the food court then let the kids play in the play area. We love playdates! :)
Sienna, Scutter, Ryleigh, and Jayden :) so cute!
Maternity Pictures-
A friend of mine recommended a photographer to us. She did some family/maternity pictures for us a couple weeks ago (June 29, 2011) and when Isabella is born, she will be taking her newborn pictures. It is called the "bellies to babies" package. We were so happy with our pictures. :) Here are a few of my favories! (we loved them all, though!)
