Celebration of Life

This week we had to say goodbye to an amazing woman, Mary Swann. Mary Swann is my dear friend Kendall's mother. A couple weeks ago, Mary had a heart attack. She was in a coma for a couple of weeks, and, sadly she passed away on June 12. She was only 54 and this was so unexpected to us all.

I have many fond memories of Mrs. Swann since knowing Kendall. I will never forget her visits to Radford. She was so sweet. I remember often when she would come, she would take us (the PAACK roommates) out to dinner at Macados or Texas Roadhouse. I always felt so happy when she visited because it felt like a comfort from home while we were away at college.

Kendall and her mom were VERY close, and I just can't imagine the pain she and her family are feeling right now. Kendall and her husband Cody recently had their first son, Taiten. Taiten was Mary's first grandchild and she loved Taiten very much. Kendall also has a younger sister, Kelsey, who just graduated from High School while her mom was fighting for her life in a coma. Kendall's dad, Wilson, is a wonderful man- they are all staying so strong during this difficult time. They were married 29years.

Mary Swann truly touched many lives in many different ways. This was evident in the amount of people who came to honor her at the visitation and memorial service. There were HUNDREDS of people there to celebrate her life. It was amazing.

My heart goes out to Kendall and her whole family. May you rest in peace, Mrs. Swann. <3

Random Pictures 9.75 months

Jayden is growing up so fast...

He likes to open the fridge and see what trouble he can get into.

He is STANDING up all the time! He balances very well and just laughs when he falls down... then gets right back up on his feet.

Daddy just relaxes now since Jayden prefers to hold his own bottle. (He says ba ba now, too!)

Jayden has always loved bath time... and still does. He plays with his toys and hates when bath time is over. He often crawls into the bathroom and just stands there holding on to the tub. ha

Jayden loves cheerios, puffs, and all kinds of foods! He eats all stage 2 and some stage 3 fruits and veggies!

Check out these teeth! He now has another one on the bottom. This guy has a lot of teeth now!

Happy boy!!

Sponge Bob PJs

He loves to make messes. And pull down everything he possibly can!

top teeth at 9 months

It is not an easy task for us to look at Jayden's top teeth because he does not like us to lift up his top lips! But we managed to get a couple quick pictures yesterday so we could see all the action going on up there!

The top gums have been swollen for a long time now and we have been able to feel the sharpness poking trough, but now we can see all these teeth coming in at the same time! Poor guy...I am sure it doesn't feel that great to have so many teeth coming in at the same time...

PS. He pulls up on EVERYTHING and even lets go and stands alone for several seconds. Here he is about to take down my picture frame! :)

Cheerios and Purina Share

I had to post this because I think it is so funny....

Jayden and Fred like to share...
Jayden gives Fred cheerios and Fred gives Jayden dog food.

I'm serious.... Jayden sits in his highchair and drops cheerios on the floor for Fred. Fred's head is always right there at Jayden's feet waiting for some to drop!

Fred eats his dog food by getting a mouthful of food, but only eating some of it. He drops several pieces of his tasty Purina onto the floor for Jayden to pick up!

Jayden is very fast these days and gets to it in the blink of an eye. I have taken 2 soggy pieces of Purina from Jayden's mouth. (FYI- he has never actually EATEN it-- just put it in his mouth!!!)

Thankfully, Fred is such an easy going dog. Jayden pulls on Fred's ears and hair and Fred just lays there. Just a few minutes ago, I looked over at Fred who was sleeping peacefully on the sofa and Jayden was sticking his pointer finger up Fred's nostrils. Fred didn't even move.... hahaha Jayden was laughing hysterically.

I am going to have a fun summer... lol

First Haircut!

Jayden is 9 months old with his Daddy's hair! lol

Jared has been bugging me to cut Jayden's "earmuffs" for a while now. So I gave Jayden his first haircut! Just a few snips of the front and a couple snips around hs ears and ta da! He looks like a handsome little boy! Thank you, Nana, for helping hold him while I gave my first haircut! :)

Norm's 24th!

Last weekend, we celebrated Norm's 24th Birthday! We had a fun time at Kabuto for a late lunch. The food was yummy!

Happy Birthday, Norm! We love you!!!
