The Little Gym

A few weeks ago, one of my friends at work was telling me about a place called The Little Gym. They have classes for kids and focus on different skills each week. It was something that I wanted to look into for Jayden.

Jared took him up there on Wednesday when he was off work. He talked to the lady and she said we could come to an intro. class on Saturday morning to see if we liked it. We took Jayden... he loved it!!!

After that class, we decided to sign up! He has class every Saturday through June. Since that first class, we have been to two more and have had a blast each time. It is a lot of fun for Jayden to run around and play with other kids. The teacher there is awesome and teaches them sign language, as well as different skills each week. Jayden has learned to do a forward roll and backward roll (with help), they use hula hoops and balls and frisbees, and all kinds of things to pratice motor skills. We also like it because it is something for us to do as a family every week together. It is our special time with Jayden. :)

The class starts off sitting in a circle and we sing songs and they sing every child's name. Then we learn a new sign language sign. We have learned run and swing so far. Then, we do warm ups by running, walking, galloping in a big circle. Then we do something as a whole group- parachute or blow up jumpee thing, then there is music and time to explore stopping throughout to learn and practice new skills like rolling, balancing, etc. After that, it is BUBBLE time!! The kids love the bubbles and have so much fun with this part. After bubbles, we sit in a circle again to sing the goodbye song. It is so cute and fun!!!!
