the past few months...

I have had many requests for an updated blog entry so I am going to try and finally make a post! It has been a while since I have gotten on here. It seems like blogging always gets pushed to the bottom of my "to do" list. There has been so much going on that I never had a chance to blog. The short time I get to myself I just want to lay on the couch and catch up on my DVRd Days of Our Lives and Ellen. (haha Ains... I think of you whenever I am watching Ellen) Anyways... where do I start????????

Today I am home with Jayden. He is actually acting perfectly fine now, but last night he had a rash on his face and belly that we thought may have been strep. We took him to the doctor and strep test was negative, he did not have any fever, loss of appetite, or anything, but he had some kind of virus with a rash. The doctor said we should keep him home today from daycare, just to let him rest. He has been "resting" all day. If you count rocking hard on his new rocking zebra toy from Grandpa Mike, or throwing balls across the living room, taking ornaments off the Christmas tree, feeding himself blueberry yogurt AKA feeding the counter, floor and his clothes, playing in his tent, going up and down on the couch, and into everything as resting.

He is congested though and he does have a little cough. So it is best he is home and in his own house. And, I have some time now while he is napping to update my blog (and take a nap/rest myself!)

Other than this little virus he has, Jayden is doing great. He is such a happy perfect little boy with such a fun personality. He loves to give hugs, kisses, and high fives. He plays, laughs, talks in his own baby language, and understands sooo much. I can ask him to go let Fred out and he goes over to open the back door. Or I can ask him to put on his socks or shoes and he goes to get them. He loves to play outside, or play in his tent, or be pushed around on his truck. At his 15 month check up, he weighed in at 23 pounds 10 ounces (50%), was 32 3/4" tall (88%)- tall boy!!!, and head circumference was 47 cm (50%). We are so blessed to have a happy and healthy boy.

What else? I am thinking back to the last time I updated and so much has happened in the past few months.....

October did not start out that great... I was about six weeks pregnant and had a miscarriage. It was such a horrible experience that we went through, but we know God has a plan for everything and something just was not right. This happened just before my 26th birthday, which made me feel very sad and kind of depressed, but my family and friends were so supportive and really helped me get through it. We are sure Jayden will have a baby brother or sister when the time is right.

October flew by... we had fun with Halloween art projects, two trips to the pumpkin patch, the state fair, and HALLOWEEN!

For Halloween, Jayden's daycare had a little party and then a costume parade. Jared and Stacy went to help out with the party. This is a picture of the toddlers sitting at the table at school... so cute!

The parade was really cute, too! Jayden was a dragon for Halloween and he actually liked wearing his costume.... which I was shocked about! haha

Jared's mom and grandma came up to spend the day with us before Halloween and we had a fun time going to the pumpkin patch. It was such a nice day and Jayden had a blast running around the pumpkin patch!

It was awesome that Jayden finally got to meet his great-grandma Flo! :)

This was our first Halloween in our new house and we were super excited to pass out candy to trick or treaters from our house. Stacy came up for Halloween night. Jayden made a sweet dragon boy!!!

Just for comparison... I had to throw in some pictures of Jayden from last year... he was only 8 weeks old.... look at him!!!

October flew by and then it was November...we were so excited because Justin, Rachel, Andrew, and Brandon were coming to visit from Florida, and Jared's dad was coming from Wisconsin. Since we have a house now, they were all able to stay with us! Jared and I took Friday off and had a nice long weekend visit with everyone. We even had a little Thanksgiving dinner with them since it was just a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. Jayden LOVED playing with his cousins Andrew and Brandon.

On November 18, my grandmother passed away. We were all very sad to say goodbye to our Mom Mom. She was 92. I have so many wonderful memories to hold on to, but we will all miss her dearly. She was a wonderful person.

We will miss you, Mom Mom.

I wish it was not for the reason of a funeral, but it was really nice to see all of my dad's side of the family from PA. We were able to see everyone that we have not seen in a while, and Jayden had his first trip to Pennsylvania. We ate so much hoagie that we all were pretty much sick! haha YUMMMY! And Jayden got to meet all of his great aunts/uncles and other PA family. Thanks to Aunt Sue and Uncle Bill for your hospitality and letting us all stay at your house.

Oh, I almost forgot, on a happy note! Stacy turned 22! Crazy!

Jayden has grown and changed so much in the past year. I have to put in this picture of LAST Thanksgiving. He was only 3 months old at his first turkey day!

Now, it is December, and we are all ready for Jayden's second Christmas! Santa Claus is coming to town! Our tree is up, Christmas cards are done, shopping is almost done), gifts are wrapped and under the tree, and Jared even hung lights on our house! While I was so excited to decorate the inside of our house, Jared was more excited to decorate the outside!

Here is Jared in action... haha

Good job, Jared! You did a nice job turning our house into a Charlie Brown house! It looks super!!! (We call it the Charlie Brown house because the lights are just kinda hanging around ... notice the part where they hang down at the top- it was because Jared was too scared/ couldn't reach to get it on top of the triangle! HAHA but, seriously, I love it! :)

One more picture--Jared is laying on the couch with Jayden teaching him about football. I thought it was cute!

Happy December, everyone! December has always been my favorite, lucky month! ;)
