Snow Bab!y!

Last time we had a big snow storm we were in the hospital with Jayden. We've had a couple snows since then but this weekend was a big one!!! :)

We bundled up the baby and got some pictures! These were taken yesterday as the snow was falling...

Jared's had to drive in this today to go to work. He had "fun" clearing off the car to get there!











I am going to enjoy my snow day! (days??) :) :) :)

twenty-six

Twenty-six years ago, on January 25, 1984, Jared was born. What a cutie! (actually it is pretty funny looking at Jared's cheeks in this picture because Jayden has the same cheeks!)



Anyway, thankfully, Jared's family moved from Florida to Virginia when we were in middle school. They moved in on the street right behind our house. Kinda funny, but my brother Norm was friends with Jared's brother Jordan for a while before Jared and I had ever even met. We did go to the same bus stop though. Jared was one of the guys who used to make fun of me because I always got dropped off at the bus stop by my dad in his ancient Honda Civic. haha

Just after eighth grade ended, we started hanging out because we had many of the same friends. As we started high school, we started hanging out more. Our first date was in December 1998 at the Christmas Dance. We've been together ever since. It's hard to believe that we have known eachother for that long. It's kinda crazy... I mean, we were only 14 years old! I don't think anyone really believed it was the real thing since we were so young. We have been through so much together... learner's permits, driver's licenses, first cars, high school, college, jobs, and now we're married with a baby! Life is awesome! :)

Tomorrow Jared is going to be turning 26 years old. I can't believe it. I am so lucky to have Jared as my husband. Jared is a great husband and daddy to Jayden! I am looking forward to many more birthdays together!!!

Jayden LOVES his tongue. Anytime he is happy, his mouth is wide open and tongue is OUT! :)

Even the nurses at the doctor's office the other day were talking about how he is going to end up with chapped lips because his mouth is always open and tongue is always out!! haha

This is my newest favorite picture of him. I just love the hat that's too big for him and that adorable happy smile!

I'm so glad Jared is off this weekend and we get to spend time together as a family! (well, minus the time I have to do report cards! yuck!)

Jayden is FIVE MONTHS old!!!

Jayden just hit the five month mark! We are enjoying every minute of him!

Since he was sick and wheezing at 4 months, he was unable to get his 4 month shots at that time. Now that he is better, he had his 4 month shots at 5 months! :) Everything went really well at the doctor's appointment. He is now 16 pounds 2 ounces (50%) and about 25 1/2 inches long. Dr. said he still did have some fluid in his ear, but it can take several weeks to go away. Dr. said he looks great! :)

Jared took him to this appointment because I was at work. Jared is such a good daddy! Oh, and here is a picture of Jayden's bandaids from the shots.


A lot has been happening this month. Jayden has such a sweet, LAID BACK, happy personality. He really doesn't cry much at all. (much different from his first couple months with the colic!)

Jayden.....
-is such a good sleeper... He is sleeping IN HIS CRIB! He started in the crib on Christmas Night 2009 (4 months) and has slept in it EVERY night since. We lay him down when he's sleepy, but awake, and he falls asleep on his own. He uses a paci and listens to the lullaby music projector that hangs on his crib. It plays sweet music and shines a light with moving stars, etc. on the ceiling. He watches that as he falls asleep(thanks Nana and Pop Pop for that cool thing!) He goes to bed around 9:30 pm and sleeps until around 7:00 am. :)
-eyes are turning darker
-started rice cereal at almost 5 months (21 weeks)
-still LOVES bathtime!!!!!
-plays in jumparoo!
-ticklish and laughs a lot
-puts everything he can in his mouth
-sticks his tongue out all the time!
-had allergy testing done (20 weeks)
-wearing size 2 diapers... getting ready to start size 2/3! we prefer Pampers! :)
-This month, we also learned that Jayden is allergic to penicillin. He was on amoxicillin for his ear infection a few weeks ago and he broke out in hives. Jared and I are both allergic to penicillin, too.

Friday night Jayden had his first rice cereal! It was so much fun feeding him with a spoon!!! He did very well with it. He made a big mess and it was great!

Jared likes to teach Jayden how to hold his own bottle. Sometimes he does it and sometimes he doesn't. Last night, I walked into the nursery and was watching their bottle holding lesson....



After the bottle, Jayden burped. He does not spit up that often, but every once in a while he does. He did last night! But not on his burp cloth or his bib! He spit up right on Jared's face!!! I just happened to have the camera in my hand from the previous clip. So I had to get a picture of this!!! It was so funny!!!!!!!!!!!

SNOW DAY!

This morning I was so excited to wake up to my school being a 2-hour delay! I got up, saw it on the news, and hit the snooze button. Instead of waking up at 5 am, I got to wake up at 7 am. Jayden wakes up at 7 am every morning. It is like clockwork! He actaully is a very good sleeper. He goes to bed around 9 pm ISH and sleeps until 7 am ISH. :)

Anyway, I got up, fed/changed Jayden, then got myself all ready. Next thing you know my friend Kristen texted me and let me know that it was a snow day!!! I turned on the news and sure enough, the 2 hour delay was now changed to CLOSED! YAY! I was so excited. A Friday... Snow and spend whole day with baby!!! Sounds perfect to me! This is what it looked like through our porch windows.... I wish I would have taken a little bit longer clip because it looks so pretty!!!



I wanted to take Jayden out really fast to get his picture in the snowfall. Jared was at work so it was pretty difficult to hold the baby in one arm and the camera in the other... my video didn't turn out so well... You can see the 2 second clip. I had to stop because a snowflake fell right in Jayden's eyelash!!!



Here we are... I didn't get my make up on yet because between the shower and makeup getting ready process I learned school was closed!




I had to set Jayden in his car seat in order to get a picture of him with the snow. So far, this is his 3rd snow accumulation! It was nothing like the 20+ inches we had a couple weeks ago when he was in the hospital. It was just enough to cover everything, including the roads so I couldn't go to work!







Gosh, I love snow! And I love my baby! Yesterday was perfect!!!
