A Day in the Life...: Jayden is ONE MONTH old!!!

Wow! Time has flown by! Jayden is now a month old. Actually, tomorrow he will be 5weeks! Crazy! He is getting bigger (and heavier!) every day. He has not been to the doctor since he was 2 weeks old and he does not have a 1 month well baby visit... so we do not know how much he weighs or how long he is. We tried weighing and measuing him from home. We think he is now weighing in at 8 pounds 12 ounces and is 22 inches long. His next appointment is Oct. 21 which is his 2 month check up.

Jayden is doing great! He is so cute and sweet. He is not on a schedule- he does what he wants! haha He does sleep at night for about 4 hours in a row. It is just a matter of WHEN he decides to go to sleep. He is the newborn who DOES NOT like to sleep! One day, he was awake from 10 am until 11 pm!!!

At this time, he does not care for his swings or bouncy chair. All he likes is to be held. He likes to lay on people and fall asleep on your chest. He can be completely fast asleep on someone, but as soon as you lay him down anywhere--crib, swing, sofa, bed, cradle, bouncy... he wakes up within 3 minutes! It is kinda frustrating because it makes it very difficult to get things done around the house... or even to get a shower! haha

He does cry a lot! Sometimes it is so hard because he cries and I don't know what to do for him. Jared is so funny because he carries Jayden around in this carrier and it does help calm him down. It is so cute!!!

story time:

I'm trying to think of things that have happened this first month of his life:

-Jayden has had LOTS of visitors! :)
-Mommy and Daddy are VERY sleep deprived! :)
-clogged tear duct has cleared up and is fine (the first couple weeks we were having to massage it w/ warm cloth)
-Umbilical cord fell off at 3 weeks
-gets sponge bath every other night
-takes vitamin dropper Tri Vi Sol nightly
-We read books to him almost every night
-Still in newborn size diapers
-veryy gassy-- burps a lot and LOUDLY!!! farts/poops LOUD-- funny how such a little guy produces so much gas and dirty diapers... we go through a wholllleee lot of diapers and wipes!
-does not like to be swaddled
-had 2 week pictures made at Portrait Innovations
-very wiggly and stong... can hold his head up by himself...for bits at a time
-likes to stare at people while being held
-only likes the swing at Nana and Pop Pop's house... does not care about any of his swings at home!
-squeezes mommy's finger when he's eating... it is so cute!
-crosses his feet and curls up in a ball
-cries when he first gets strapped in his car seat, but then falls asleep once we drive around in the car (a couple nights when he won't stop screaming we put him in the car and drive around!!!)
-does a "lip quiver" when he cries... it gets us everytime!
