I've been really bad about blogging lately. I'll admit, I've been bad about keeping up with a lot of things lately. I have been feeling pretty good overall, but have been extremely exhausted! Especially after having a two week break from work-- it has been rough going back! I love my job and love being with my kids all day, but by the end of the day I am simply beyond exhausted. Jared has had to wake me up from falling asleep on the couch to eat dinner. Then, I ususally go right back to sleep! haha
I am also the chair (co-chair- I share with one other teacher) of the yearbook committee. In the beginning of the school year March seemed so far away. Of course we took pictures and everything, but knowing the yearbook did not have to be submitted to the company until March, we decided to procrastinate a little bit in working on the yearbook pages. Well... now the time is really creeping up on us. We have about 6 more weeks to work on the yearbook. We have been working really hard lately trying to do as much as we can. It is starting to come together now! :) Keep your fingers crossed that we finish in time and have a cool yearbook!!!
There is this really cool website that my cousin who is pregnant told me about... baby center.com. It is free and each week of your pregnancy they email you with what happens during that week, as well as some tips for that week. So far, I have gotten emails for weeks 7, 8, and now 9. It's pretty neat! Today, I got this email:
"How your baby's growing:
Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain."
It's funny they refer to the baby as "she." They switch each week. Last week it was "he." Speaking of he/she, I can't wait to find out! We still have a while though.....
Tomorrow afternoon is my next doctor's appointment. Hopefully, everything will be progressing as it should and I can post a new update tomorrow. :)
Last night, the School Board for the county I work for had a meeting. At the meeting, they declared that Tuesday, 1/20 school is CLOSED for inauguration day! The instructional time will be made up on March 27- which is fine and dandy with me because March 27 was supposed to be a teacher workday anyways. So now the kids will be there, too. The good thing about Tuesday being off work is that there is no school on Monday, 1/18 either! Thank you, Martin Luther King, Jr! So all this means is that I have a 4-day weekend!
Well, I need to go take a shower and get ready for American Idol tonight! I'll try to post blogs more often!
