Bedroom Switcheroo

Last week, we decided to do a little bedroom switcheroo.  It was not 100% necessary; however, we are happy with the outcome.  It all started because I got so tired of having the train table in our "office" / my project space!

Anyway, we have always loved Jayden's little boy room.  My dad painted it when we moved in to our house when Jayden was just 10 months old.  It's a farm theme and the walls were painted like you're outside.  This was Jayden's baby room:

Just before he turned two, he went from a toddler bed to a big boy bed...

bella was just a couple weeks old!

Well, we did not want to paint over this room quite yet.  We agreed if one day we ever have another boy, we could do the farm theme again.  And maybe if one day we ever have another girl, we could do a garden theme or something and add pretty wooden flowers instead of the grass chunks... Anyway, we moved Jayden down the hall into what he thinks of as "Stacy's room."  He was excited as we were moving all his stuff into his new room.

This is what the room looked like when we first moved in as a guest room:

When we first moved in, my dad painted the walls a beige color so we did not have to paint it now.  The paint was still fresh and the walls were bare and ready for Jayden's new SPORTS themed room!!!

Here it is:  Jayden's new big boy room!

We still need to add artwork above his bed.  I would love to find a big canvas of a stadium or something cool like that, but we will just wait and see what we find.  Maybe that would be a good present for Santa to bring him for Christmas.  =)

Jayden's sport artwork-- his handprint is the basketball and his footprint is the football!

we brought up his bball net from garage

my latest craftiness- i used sports theme scrapbook paper and cut it out to fit the top of the wooden letters, then i mod podged the paper onto the letters...i love it!
In the next picture, ignore the leaning growth chart....it was hanging straight at first, but the material is falling apart and needs to be repaired and renailed to the wall!

This was Jared's (not sure who it originally belonged to--grandpa?)  but it is a 1939 Redskins program

and signed tickets from a 1939 game!

lots of toys can hide in this closet!

found at Hobby Lobby on sale for $3.00 - a great find!!!

perfect light switch cover for a sports room!

Finally, we have the new guest room/train room.  I loveeee having the train table upstairs and now I have my space downstairs opened up.  Jayden and Bella still love to play on the train table upstiars.  We also moved in the trampoline and play tent.  And, we still have a bed for when guests come to stay at our house!

It was kinda fun switching things up.  I always like change and think this works well.  Jayden did perfectly fine adjusting--he sleeps great in his new room!  =)
